Looking back on this blog to July 2010, I read my post about eating salmon and cooking for my hubby, Elvis, a non-salmon lover.

I’m amazed at what time and a few good recipes will do to change someone. Ahem…I mean, my hubby.

Today, two years later, Elvis, now, just like me, can’t eat enough salmon. I buy wild King salmon from seafood supplier, ilovebluesea.com. They offer an excellent shipping rate and use recycled shipping materials. But the best thing about ilovebluesea? They supply  fresh, sustainable seafood only.

Below, I love where I write: “I cook. He eats.”

Now that includes salmon.

Thanks Elvis for believing in me and my seafood world.

Here’s the post in its entirety:

Eat Your Greens and Wild Salmon, Too!

My husband is a picky eater.

Not me.

Sound familiar?

I crave salmon. I order it (often) when I dine out. It’s a rare occasion that I prepare salmon at home. My husband doesn’t like it, at all. Can’t stand the smell. What’s SeafoodLadyOrlando to do?

I’m not one of those people that makes separate dishes because I want one thing (salmon), and he wants something else (anything but salmon).

I cook.

He eats.

I know what he likes, and I know what I like. It doesn’t always work out in my favor (especially when I’m craving salmon). So when he’s traveling, guess what I do?

I buy salmon and cook it. And then I eat it for as many meals as I can.

Today, Cavallari Gourmet ** had a Facebook special for wild sockeye salmon. Regular price $16.99, fb price $12.99. (Who’s not paying attention  to social media?)

I made Wild Sockeye Salmon seared with black & white sesame seeds. Served on a bed of baby arugula, topped with thinly sliced jalapeño pepper and honeydew melon. Drizzled with Garlic-Chili sauce.  Mmmm…Paired with Somona-Loeb Chardonnay. Ahhhh…

(**Unfortunately, Cavalari Gourmet, where I’d bought my salmon in Florida two years ago, no longer sells fresh fish. )
