Nail Your Marketing Message
How to Have Fun Making Your Message Say What You Mean
In a Facebook group, we were challenged with a #MagazineCoverChallenge.
What’s that?
#MagazineCoverChallenge gives you the writer, entrepreneur, teacher, consultant, lawyer, CPA, create a magazine cover using ourselves as the brand.
Basically, it boils down to this: what’ve you trying to say?
This exercise can help you figure out how to communicate your message in your writing, socials, and business services.
Where Do You Start?
Start with you. As in, a selfie, or a pro-headshot if you have one.
To create your “headlines,” use your content buckets—those things you write about, think you want to write about, or if you have a product, what you sell or teach. Channel your inner badass. It’s you, after all.
Get over yourself, thinking nobody wants to know what you know. Of course, we do!
Your content list will be like no other, just like you. In addition to your “best of the best,” think outside the box. Whether you’re sharing poetry, selling products and services, writing essays, creating art tutorials, or something else. Maybe all of the above. We all want to share and read well-rounded, fun, educational content.
After all, we humans are multi-dimensional.
This applies to whether you’re a graphic designer, copy editor, teacher, or commercial realtor. We want to know the other stuff, too, like: How to Walk Your Cat on a Leash; How to Grow a Butterfly Garden When You Live in a High-rise; Pro-tips for Grilling Oysters; Top 3 Coding Tips, How to Make Bagels on a Budget.
There are numerous apps to make your #MagazineCoverChallenge.
I created mine on the free version of Canva.
Give it a try. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results. Discover how to best communicate your message, and perhaps learn more about yourself what you really want to say.
